'A Pale Reflection' was the first track ever written specifically for Sonus Mortis back in early 2013. One or two of the riffs are taken from old tracks I had written for Valediction but never used them. The woodwind instrument in the intro with the clean section is actually a shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute). Found this to be such an interesting instrument I ended up buying one. The shakuhachi also features on a few tracks throughout the debut album. The quote at the end is from Macbeth, taken from the 1978 TV drama version by Ian McKellen.

'The Cyber Construct' was written back in early 2012 by myself but again not used by Valediction. I eventually restructured the song and some of the riffs as I thought it was a decent opener track for the debut album.
